Lighthouse Point Park
in East New Haven, CT

Here's some pictures we took of the lighthouse at Lighthouse Point Park in New Haven CT.

The only time we had been here before was during the Fall (off season), and when we stopped here during the summer, we were surprised to see how huge and beautiful Lighthouse Point Park is. My relatives were impressed.

There was a $10.00 charge to get in, because we are not residents of New Haven.

They are from Indiana, and on our way to Tweed Airport for a return trip, we stopped here for a last get together. It was a kind of quiet Thursday morning, as there were few people here. Most visitors were families, and their children were playing in the newly built waterpark.

Lighthouses in New Haven

We didn't even realize there are two lighthouses at Lighthouse Point, and one of the lighthouses is located offshore. It was kind of a foggy morning offshore, so we didn't really get a good picture of the second lighthouse.

Enjoying the sunset at Lighthouse Point

There is a Pagoda style shelter for large groups or family reunions, but I don't know how many of these they have. There is another shelter by the Carousel House. As we continued walking around the grounds we spotted the Carousel House and walked over to check it out. I was surprised to find out it was a Looff Carousel still in operation. I made a special page for the Looff carousel. Here's a picture of me by the lighthouse.

- Here's a postcard of the way the lighthouse was in the early 1900's. Not much has changed, amazingly it still looks the same. It's dated 1909... Old Lighthouse Point Postcard

- The playground at Lighthouse Point in New Haven CT is really nice, and there are picnic tables all over. The most popular waterpark attraction being the buckets that fill up and then dump right on you. From the kids screams of delight, they were enjoying every second. Kids were running all over the place getting sprayed with water from all sorts of water toys.... waterpark

- During the winter they have a very popular and spectacular Christmas light display here that you drive through. It's starts the day after Thanksgiving. The charge is $5.00 per car.

- See the Lighthouse Point brochure that was (thankfully) sent to me by the event coordinator at Lighthouse Point Park... brochure front... brochure back
